Welcome to Fort Prompt! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Fort Prompt browser extension, our website (https://fortprompt.com), and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Fort Prompt, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Fort Prompt is a browser-based extension designed to help users create, enhance, manage, and store AI prompts. The Service includes features such as:

  • An interface to interact with third-party AI APIs (e.g., OpenRouter).
  • Tools to extract and import chat history from third-party AI platforms for context.
  • Local storage for prompt libraries and knowledge bases.
  • Optional synchronization with your personal Google Sheets.

2. License and Access

A. Granted License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use the Fort Prompt extension for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.

B. Free and Premium Plans

Fort Prompt offers both a Free Plan and Premium Plans (via license keys).

  • Free Plan: Provides limited usage credits and functionality.
  • Premium Plans: Require a valid purchased license key. You agree not to share, distribute, or resell your license key. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate license keys that show suspicious activity or violate these Terms.

3. Third-Party Services and APIs

Fort Prompt acts as a bridge between you and third-party services. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): If you use your own API keys (e.g., OpenRouter), you are solely responsible for the security of those keys and any costs or charges incurred through their use.
  • Compliance with Third Parties: You must comply with the Terms of Service of any third-party AI provider or platform you interact with using Fort Prompt (including OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).
  • Google Sheets: Use of the Google Sheets integration requires you to authorize access to your Google account. We are not responsible for data loss or corruption within your Google Drive.
  • No Endorsement: We do not control, endorse, or assume liability for the availability, accuracy, or outputs of third-party AI models.

4. User Conduct and Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Fort Prompt to:

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Generate, store, or transmit malicious code, malware, or illegal content.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, hack, or dismantle the extension or our backend systems.
  • Bypass or exploit our credit system, license verification, or usage limits.
  • Scrape, extract, or import data from web pages where you do not have the right or permission to do so.

5. Intellectual Property

A. Our Property

The Fort Prompt extension, website, branding, logos, original code, and UI/UX design are the exclusive property of Fort Prompt and its creators, protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

B. Your Property

We claim no ownership over the prompts you create, the knowledge bases you store, or the content generated by AI models using our Service. You retain all rights to your own text and configurations.

6. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

A. “As Is” Basis

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

B. AI Outputs

Fort Prompt is a tool to help structure text. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or quality of the outputs generated by the third-party AI models you access through our Service.

C. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fort Prompt and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, incurred by you or any third party, whether in an action in contract or tort, arising from your access to or use of the Service.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service, including revoking your license key, at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. By continuing to use the Service after changes are published, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Fort Prompt operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
